Good Sleep Hygiene: Tips from an Aromatherapist
Share
One of the questions I get asked the most is which sleep product of mine I recommend they try out. I often ask a few follow up questions, and I thought it might be beneficial to go through all the different options I have in an easy-to-read format to make deciding a little easier and shopping a little less overwhelming!
Why Different Sleep Products Work Differently
When people search for the “best sleep product,” the truth is there isn’t one universal answer.
Some people love a fast, low-effort bedtime routine. Others need intentional wind-down time after stressful days. And some simply enjoy layering calming products together to create a relaxing evening routine.
Your ideal sleep routine depends on:
- How much time you have before bed
- Whether you prefer aromatherapy through scent or need topical support
- If you enjoy baths or quick routines
- Whether you want a product for travel, nightly rituals, or occasional stress-filled evenings
Without further ado, let’s dive into each of my options and talk about what they’re each strong in!
Sleep Linen + Room Spray: Quick, Effortless Aromatherapy
First up, one of my highest selling products. Most people who buy this once are repeat buyers- and it’s one of the things I REFUSE to run out of for myself.
This spray is safe for kids 2+, it works on both your body and your sheets, but my favorite way to use it is by spraying it 3-5 times on my pillows, and sometimes on my sheets as I’m getting into bed and getting ready to fall asleep.
Basically, it’s quick and effortless! Spray a few times and then let the oils work their magic 🙂
Try the Sleep Linen Spray If…
- You want a low-effort nighttime routine
- You enjoy aromatherapy through scent
- You want to make your bedroom feel calm and relaxing
- You prefer something lightweight and fast

Sleep Roller: Best for On-the-Go Calm & Quick Bedtime Support
Need something simple, portable, and mess-free?
Next, we have one of my cheapest sleep options that is also my most convenient!
A sleep roller offers calming aromatherapy in an easy, travel-friendly format. Made with lavender, sweet orange, cedarwood, frankincense, and Roman chamomile, it’s perfect for applying before bed or taking with you while on-the-go.
Many people also enjoy rolling onto pulse points before winding down with reading, stretching, or quiet time.
Try the Sleep Roller If…
- You want quick, simple bedtime support
- You travel often
- You love roll-on aromatherapy
- You want something easy to keep by your bedside

Sleep Body Lotion: Best for Full-Body Relaxation
If you enjoy body care and evening self-care practices, the sleep body lotion is a great middle ground between a balm and body and linen spray. It’s effective, more budget-friendly, has multiple sizes available, and it absorbs quickly.
If you struggle with sensory issues, this fast-absorbing lotion leaves no residue and will not damage fabrics or feel greasy after applying.
I reach for this especially after I shower and need some full-body moisture- or whenever my skin is dry during the day! Massaging it gently into the skin allows for both the aromatherapy scent to help you relax with the topical application being great for additional sleep support.
Featuring the same calming blend of lavender, sweet orange, cedarwood, frankincense, and Roman chamomile, the lotion allows you to turn moisturizing into part of your nighttime routine.
Try the Sleep Body Lotion If…
- You need moisturizing before bed
- You want a calming scent that stays part of your routine
- You prefer lightweight hydration compared to a balm
- You want some topical support as well as aromatherapy
It’s available here in 2 oz, 4 oz, and 8 oz options!
Sleep Magnesium Balm: Sleep Support + Magnesium Boost
Speaking of magnesium balm, here’s the next level in sleep support!
If you struggle to stay asleep, have restless legs/arms, or need long-lasting support, this is the way to go. It’s packed with the same powerful essential oil blend, with my magnesium oil wrapped up inside.
What does magnesium do? It relaxes both mind and body. It’s pretty widely known that magnesium is one of the minerals most adults are deficient in nowadays, so making it a part of your daily routine is always recommended! Pairing it with a magnesium supplement like this one is a great way to fill the gap.
Fun fact- magnesium is a contributing factor for insomnia, so by using it as part of your nighttime routine, you’re helping your body in more ways than just aromatherapy!
My sleep magnesium balm is more slowly absorbing than my linen spray, oil roller, and body lotion, so it’s the best choice for the longest effects if you struggle to stay asleep once you’re already asleep.
I use this in reserve for when I’m restless or dealing with worse insomnia than usual! Don’t get me wrong though, I use my sleep linen spray religiously, and this is more of a booster when I need it. I recommend getting both, to be completely honest!
Try the Sleep Magnesium Balm If…
- You struggle staying asleep once asleep
- You deal with a lot of restlessness in your arms or legs
- You prefer a richer, balm texture over lotions or sprays

Simple Relaxation: Bath Soaks & Sugar Scrubs
I recommend these when you love self-care routines. If you love everything showers, skincare, or treating yourself occasionally, you’ll love these goodies I carry!
I sell both lavender sugar scrubs and bath soaks for when you want to take some extra time for yourself to relax before bed. Not so much to sleep, but to encourage your body to start winding down and relaxing your mind + body before bed.
Side note- I also carry a relax bath soak blend, which is perfect for mental + emotional support as well. I recommend the lavender for just relaxing aromatherapy, and the relax soak for when you’ve also got unbalanced emotions and want to encourage resetting your mind.
Try Lavender Bath & Body Products If…
- You love classic lavender scent
- You prefer simple ingredients and straightforward routines
- You want a relaxing nighttime shower or bath routine
- You enjoy exfoliating and self care before bed

Create Your Perfect Sleep Routine Naturally
One last note here is that you aren’t limited to just one of these options. I enjoy layering my sleep products- and my most enjoyed combo right now is using my sleep linen spray for my sheets and my sleep magnesium balm on my feet and restless legs!
Of course, I always keep bath soaks on hand when I take everything showers or baths.
Then, when I travel, I can’t take my sleep linen sprays, so I take my sleep roller instead!
And then, there’s always the side of me that’s exhausted from the day and i don’t want to put any effort into applying products. That’s when I just opt for my sleep linen spray. Spritz 3-5 times and all done!
Whatever your sleep needs are, rest assured knowing that I’ve got at least one thing you can benefit from! I hope this guide was helpful to you!
See you next week 🙂
